This editorial gives a brief description of the content of the Proposal for a Directive on preventive restructuring frameworks, second chance and measures to increase the efficiency of restructuring, insolvency and discharge procedures, drawing attention to the mechanisms and rules that will need to be weighed against the national restructuring and insolvency framework.
