Labour Law

Post-Graduation Course “Labour Law” (Continuing Education Unit) took place, starting on March 1st, 2019. This course was a joint organization effort from CIJ, the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, the Court of Appeal of Porto and had the collaboration of ACT - Authority for Working Conditions, Local Center of Greater Porto and AEL - Associação de Estudos Laborais (Labour Law Studies Society).

It covered topics such as autonomy, limits and transformations of Labour Law, personality rights, qualification of the employment contract, employment contract modalities, employment contracts with special regulations and special employment contracts, working time, employer's and employee's responsibilities, changes in the employment relationship, termination of the employment contract, accidents at work and occupational diseases, selected topics of collective labour law and labour case law.

The course aimed to enable the acquisition, updating and deepening of advanced knowledge in the area of ​​Labour Law, especially in matters of great problematic incidence, in a comprehensive perspective of its doctrinal, procedural and case law implications. Extensive training was offered in such a way that the course was designed either as a full course that could constitute an autonomous training action for magistrates, lawyers and other jurists interested in Labour Law, or the starting point for specialization for students of the 2nd or 3rd level of studies. The course could as well be an autonomous training action for professionals interested in Labour Law. It had a credit of 12 ECTS.
