These Timor-Leste – Real Rights Lessons bring together the contribution of Real Rights in Timor-Leste: an introduction (2015) by Prof Liberal Fernandes, and parts of master's dissertations in this area, carried out at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Timor-Leste and whose public exams took place in October 2017.
It is intended that this publication is an expression of the real rights regime in Timor-Leste - which was subject to significant changes since 2015 - and, in this way, provide UNTL Law students and the legal community, an updated text.
As a way to facilitate the access to the legislation related to the subject of these Lessons, it was decided to bring together the existing diplomas, with the exception of the part corresponding to the Civil Code. The inclusion of these legal texts does not, however, dispense the consultation of the Jornal da República.
This publication falls within the scope of the participation of the Faculty of Law of the University of Timor-Leste, Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and CIJ-FDUP in the Collaboration Protocol between the Portuguese Universities and the National University of Timor-Leste.
Finally, it should be noted that it is believed that these Lessons are the first publication in the field of Law by alumni of the Faculty of Law of the University of Timor-Leste.
