Mariana Fontes da Costa

Mariana Fontes da Costa obtained her Law Degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Porto in 2003, Master in Civil Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra in 2009 and PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Porto in 2016.

She practiced law and worked as a Trainee Assistant Lecturer at the University of Aveiro, from 2004 to 2007 and as a Trainee Assistant Lecturer (until 2009) and later as an Assistant Lecturer (until 2016) at the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto.

She works currently as a Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Porto, teaching in the areas of Introduction to Law and Civil Law and as a Professor of Law at the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto and Porto Business School, teaching in the areas of Commercial Contracts, International Contracts and Innovation.

She is also a researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Justice (CIJ) at the Faculty of Law, University of Porto and is a member of the Observatory on the Economics and Management of Fraud (OBEGEF), ELI – European Law Institute and the Deutsch-Lusitanische Juristenvereinigung.
