Rita Tavares de Pina holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, a postgraduate degree in management and taxation from the Higher Institute of Financial and Tax Studies and a master's degree in taxation (LL.M. Tax) from King's College, University of London. She began her career in Transfer Pricing over 16 years ago at Deloitte in London, worked for a Fortum 500 multinational also in London, and since 2005 has been Transfer Pricing Director for PwC in New York. Rita Tavares de Pina is an expert in helping large multinationals plan and document their transfer pricing policy as well as representing them with the tax administration in negotiating advance transfer pricing agreements, negotiations between competent authorities and tax audits.
 
Since 2001, she has been a researcher at CIJ, collaborating in postgraduate classes at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and Baruch College, The City University of New York. Since 2001 she has written for the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and throughout her career has shared her experience in taxation and transfer pricing through lectures to various institutions such as the Tax Executives Institute and Bloomberg BNA
