Teaching service: Regent of "History of Law" (discipline that includes History of Roman, Peninsular and Portuguese Law), in the law degree of the Faculty of Law of the University of Oporto, as of 2006/2007. Regent of the Seminar "Law, Religion and Society", part of the discipline of "Fundamental Rights", in the Master in Law of the same Faculty, since 2010/11.
Other academic positions: since 2009, it has been a member of the Joint Commission of the Holy See-Portuguese Republic, a mixed international commission to supervise the application of the 2004 Concordat; he is, since 2015, Coordinator of the Study Group Libertas Religionis, a consortium of professors connected to the CIJ.
