José Neves Cruz

José N. Cruz is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of University of Porto (FDUP). He holds a PhD in Economics and is member of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Justice (CIJ). He participates in the network European Working Group on Organizational Crime (EUROC) and in the White Collar Crime Research Consortium (WCCRC).

He is also member of the European Society of Criminology. He has published several monographies and scientific articles on lobbying and public choice, destructive entrepreneurship, white collar crime, academic ethics and the role of OECD and European Union regulations in improving international exchange of information in the field of taxation.

His experience on management arose from being the CEO of a small company in the beginning of his career (during 10 years) and more recently he was the Dean of Faculty of Law (during 5 years). Presently, he is the Chairman of the Teaching Council of FDUP (since 2014). He has been teaching Economics and Organizational Behaviour in the Law degree and in the Master of Laws, and Topics of Economic and Financial Criminality in the Master of Criminology.
