André Lamas Leite holds a graduation in Law (2000), a Master’s degree in Criminal Law (2005) and a PhD in the same field of knowledge (2016). He is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto and at the Lusíada University also in Porto. He has previously taught (2016-2019) at the Europeia University in Lisbon. He is a researcher at CIJE and at the School of Criminology of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. He is also a lawyer and a trainer at the Portuguese Bar Association in Porto in the field of Criminal Procedure Law and member of the Commission of Legislative Policy at the same association since 2016. He is legal adviser to the President of the Republic of Cape Verde since 2016. Since March 2019 he is Local Coordinator of the Mobility Programmes of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, where he was vice-dean (2005-2006) and member of the Pedagogical Council. He has published around 90 titles in Law, especially on Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminal Procedure Law. He is member of the Executive Commission of three law magazines in Portugal and abroad. He has been lecturing both in Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey, Brazil, Cape Verde and The Netherlands. His main fields of interest are Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminal Procedure Law.
